Slip N Slide

This is how they ended up using the slip n slide...Z standing in the water pool at the end and M playing in the sprinklers.
Z was not a fan of the slip n slide...he went on a few times but really only ventures over to it when it is turned off...
He always got off before the water pool at the end
M loved the slip n slide!
Our newest backyard toy...the slip n slide.

New patio furniture!

We just got our new table and chairs for the front deck and we had to try them out:) The boys LOVED eating outside and have asked to do it every meal until winter!

It's raining, it's pouring!

We walked to M's t-ball practice today but on our way home we ran into a bit of rain! It started out as a little sprinkle but by the time we got home it was thundering and pouring:)

Skate Park

Z's version of going up the hill...just barely touching it:)
M was much braver and made it up the "mountain" and down
We get lots of comments on how cute and little Z is on that bike...he is quite the bike riding fool these days!
Chapman has a teeny, tiny skate park that we have visited a few times. It was a rainy day today but we managed to get out in between the showers and hit the park. We were however drenched by the time we got home!

Update

We have decided to retain M and have him do Kindergarten again next year. We've been going back and forth on this decision but the school was finally on board. He will however be switching to the other Kindergarten teacher so that he thinks he is going somewhere new. I told him the other day and he seemed okay with it...had some questions for me but hasn't mentioned it again.

We have also gotten M an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) for next year. He will be getting help in math and reading everyday in the resource room as well as some speech help a couple of times a week. They will also be helping the regular classroom teacher everyday to help implement some things to make him successful. Hopefully with this extra help he will begin to understand some of the kindergarten concepts and be able to go to 1st grade next year!

I am also running into some problems trying to get a psych eval done on M as well. We are trying to move him into a higher category of care but this needs to be done before I can move any further with the adoption (meaning if I don't get this done we will have to postpone the adoption to a later date...). I am frustrated, overwhelmed, and stressed out but hopefully everything will fall into place so we can make the kids ours sooner than later!

Z's new carseat

Yesterday we switched Z to his new booster seat without the 5-point harness. He is still learning to keep his seatbelt on but he loves it and feels like a big boy!!

1st Mother's Day

A picture of the boys and I before church
M's class made a book about their moms and this was M's page
Basically he loves me because I feed him...well actually that is a form of attaching so yeah!! I did love the first line about the glasses though!
My finished charmed braclet from my in-laws. They have been adding to it since we got married and I just got the M, Z, and Very Special Mom charms:) I love it!

I also got some great cards from my parents, in-laws, and M gave me a flower from school:)

Adoption date

We finally have a date to finalize the adoption!! It looks like June 17 we will officially be the boys' parents! I wish Mark could be home to celebrate but I believe my mom will be joining me in MO to help watch the boys during court and to celebrate with us!

Pool time!

We got a small pool for our backyard today. After letting the sun warm it a bit Z jumped in to enjoy! After school M also joined. By the time M joined it was not warm at all but the boys still insisted on getting in. After much splashing and lots of water fun they were ready to come in and get warm:) I think this is going to be a good investment come summertime (or weekends for that matter!)

2 year West Point Anniversary

May 3rd Mark and I celebrated our 2 year West Point Anniversary. To celebrate we had cupcakes (I'm not a cake decorator so they don't look great...but they tasted good!). I also ate my dinner off the "Red Plate". The plate was a Christmas gift from the CO Hasemans and is meant to be used on special days:) Everyone knows it is a special day when the Red Plate comes out!
